| Rojgere Ginni is a programme, which runs on the basic concept of invading the “private” space of the middle class Bengali families. The 'house-wife' generally lives a mundane life and works her life out in household chores – which, in any case according to popular opinion is not “work”. Rojgere Ginni
plays on the psyche of the housewife making her enjoy that very
work. She is asked to complete normal household jobs and is
awarded gift coupons for the same. This, no doubt makes her
transcend the “mundaneness” of daily life and her own work becomes
significant. Rojgere Ginni brings to the common woman a chance of standing up to the whole world.
This programme went on air on ETV Bangla on the 2nd of July 2001 and we shot 792 episodes of it. |
